The Series Of Unfortunate Events:The Reptile Room-Book Review

“I must tell you that if you have opened this book in the hope of finding out that the children lived happily ever after, you might as well shut it and read something else”. The title of this book is The Reptile Room by Lemony Snicket. It is about three children who’s parents were killed by a fire, and the children had to live with there distant relative Count Olaf who is terrible and greedy. Count is trying to steal there fortune that there parents left behind. The strengths of this book are the book is like a mystery. Another strength is the book is filled with a lot of hidden secrets.

The first thing i liked about this book is how the book starts off, with the children going to a mysterious cousin’s house who they will spend the rest of there life’s with. An example of this is when
Mr. Poe say’s “here is the turn were almost there”. And Violet the oldest child replies “i am nervous about meeting a new relative”. Another example of the mysterious cousin’s house is when
Uncle Monty (the relative) shows the children the reptile room, and there in a huge cage is a new species of snake that Monty has found.

Another thing i liked about this book is there are very many surprises. An example of this is when Count Olaf sneaks into Monty’s house pretending to be an expert snake handler named Stephano, just to get to the children. ” We certainly won’t help you with your luggage because we know who you are and won’t let you in this house” said Violet. Another example of the surprises of this book is when Monty dies. ” It can’t of been an accident, Uncle Monty is dead”.

The sudden turn of events is something that really made me enjoy this book. For example, when the children them self’s exposed Count Olaf. ” This” Violet said “is evidence, which i found in Stephano’s suitcase”.” We are positive Stephano killed him”. Another example of the sudden turn in events in this book is when the doctor expecting Monty’s body turns out to be one of Count Olaf’s henchmen. “The hook handed man” Violet shouted “that’s no doctor, that’s one of Counts henchmen”.

If you like books that have unfortunate events, this is the book for you. It will appeal to all reading fans and i recommend it for anyone who likes sad endings in a book.

Memory Poem

Taking a walk on memory lane

Taking a walk on memory lane
isn’t all that dull.
Taking a walk on memory lane
I see the bright-side.

Taking a walk on memory lane
isn’t all full of fears .
Taking a walk on memory lane
I have no fear.

Taking a walk on memory lane
not a drop of rain in sight.
Taking a walk on memory lane
Every thing is alright.

Taking a walk on memory lane
is where I want you to come with me.
Taking a walk on memory lane
is where we all belong together .
